Food shops in Peckham (beacause I love food)
M. Manze Eel and pie house
Pies, mash and liquor in Peckham. I thought liquor is alcoholic, but it actually is a parsley mixture. I'm not particularly fond of it but at least I've tried it.
There are a lot of old customers.
Traditional but not worn-out interiors! With green and white tiles.
Persepolis
A middle-east restaurant that always seems to be fully booked. The interiors are very homely.
We had a mezze and scrambled egg tomato flatbread. Weird that they put cheetos in the hummus. We sat at this lowish Ikea table because they said they are fully booked for the evening. It was small but nevertheless comfy.
Sophocles Bakery
It's nearer to Camberwell, but since it is such a feast for the eyes I might as well include it here. The bakery showcases a fine collection of sweet cakes, biscuits, bread and sandwiches. I don't really see bakeries very often in London and this is one of the non-pricey but more established ones with cafe seats in-store.
