Group Personal Project: Origami
We didn't want to just draw on a big sheet of paper, so after some recurring discussion I suggested folding origami with newsprint paper that is available, and to form a collective three-dimensional structure. It is relatively easy for everyone to create something, yet at the same time bring our own areas of interest in. This activity is quite abstract and experimental compared to writing down words or brainstorming ideas, but we all felt that it was a good meditative group activity.
Timelapse is here.
For example, Marcelina's origami look resemble a character or animal, which she then drew upon and became interesting figures to look at.
Peonica folded paper lotus flowers and taught AJ how to do it too. It is interesting to see how different our works are: some symmetrical, some are abstract and free-flowing.
