Personal Project: Shrine

My shrine is a meal which will be served and tasted (not to be consumed quickly). It is cooked by adding ingredients to a vague concept, e.g. creative ideas from inspiration and experimentation. The stew is then boiled down to a thicker consistency. The cooking process is recorded by a short stop motion video. I hope my recipe will develop new surprising flavours and create something substantial, but not too filling.I will thus develop my stories and narrate them in more experimental ways.

An edible "meal".

I quite like the effect of the light box because the orange light/background resonates well with my golden, metallic, reflective objects. I presented it like a "sandwich" with a small silver spoon, such that it is to be tasted and appreciated, than to be quickly devoured.

My alternative idea was to assemble ideas coming out of a wand. The squirrel tail really adds some volume and texture to the whole image!

I also made a short stop motion video showing how I have "cooked" this meal. I think this explains my "shrine" more than to just look at it, because the contents are inside of the plastic container (amid transparent).
