The making of Orange, the stop motion animation

I made some back-up trees with a supporting stand behind it.

My orange heads. I would have liked to made more elaborate expressions and facial features for them to make them look more realistic and creepy.

We set up an A3 x A3 stage and used an ipad to film our animation. It is especially hard to manage when multiple characters appear at the same time, as we have to manoeuvre them with strings midair, and often times one character has to go from one side, i.e. one person, to the other. However, it is a fun teamwork experience which the stop motion animation cannot possibly be made by just one person.

Yiting controlling the bird lady.

Out of a whim, we decided to add sound effects before lunch time. The sounds we made turned out to be hilarious and matched really well with our animation! We did a live recording and it only took us 3 takes to get it right. I am quite proud of generating the noise of thunder and rattling trees by scratching this polystyrene block lying randomly beside us.
