The slug eyes remind me of Sixty Million Dollar Man

My slug's eyes remind me of the ones that appeared in the Cantonese film Sixty Million Dollar Man in 1995, starring Stephen Chow.

There was one scene when Lee Chak-Sing, a cyborg with amputated body parts,  extends snail-like eyes from the creak of the door of a female restroom. The unaware cleaning lady slams the door and Lee's eyes recoil in pain. The eyeballs fall onto the ground and bounce back onto Lee's face.

The film is actually an appropriation of the eponymous American TV series aired from 1973 to 1978.

The original series had a more serious tone and emphasized that the agent is a cyborg with expensive, front-edge body parts costing in overall sixty million dollars. Even if the HK film has copied the concept of the cyborg, the tone is very different. Instead, the Cantonese version is a comedy of Lee who, as he couldn't afford to pay sixty million dollars in the story, obtained a cyborg body made of "scraps" costing 6000 dollars.

There was some trail and error...

Lee is also able to transform into more ordinary, relatable household objects, such as toothpaste, rice cooker and a toilet (as seen above). This makes the film very unlike the original and at the same time enjoyable to watch.

Also consider the technology at that moment: there weren't very sophisticated digital editing software as we have now, but with some clever tricks the film managed to make everything look unreal and convincing at the same time. Still don't know how they did the arms for legs thing.
