Lubaina Himid

Himid is a 2017 Turner Prize winner. I went to a small exhibition of hers (showcasing a small collection of her work) in Hollybush gardens:

Her work retains a crafty aesthetic that is colourful and somewhat childish.

I love how she chose to draw on old furniture scrap pieces such as the cabinet board and how it relates to the message in her work, in mending her art with the daily objects of unnoticed surfaces.
