The Squash, Tate Modern and Bob
Tate modern
I enjoy looking at this unsettling hybrid of human and monster. By Francis Bacon.
As you may know from my Author Genesis project, I love pumpkin (or squash). This performance by a squash captivated children, adults and all audiences who surrounded and observed the dancing squash.
The squash sometimes interacted with children by walking closer to them. Some children followed the actions of the squash and the figure was very enticing to them.
BOB by Ian Cheng in Serpentine Gallery
Lovely concept sketches
The videos document the assembly and destruction of little creatures called Bob. I am not sure how our existence would influence them as stated on the description, but it was interesting to look at how these levitating creatures struggle in movement and perhaps staying alive.
