The People's Forest in William Morris Gallery

Gayle Chong Kwan’s The People’s Forest is an exhibition of new photographic and sculptural work exploring the history, politics, and people of London’s ancient woodland, Epping Forest.



The headsets are made of a combination of personal photographs of participants and natural elements such as leaves and sticks. It can be worn as a performance headpiece which by itself tells a story with its narrative.

I got particularly interested in Monsanto by Mathieu Asselin: the photographic investigation of GMO corn and the reason why corn nowadays cannot be grown from store-bought corn, but instead from particular corn seeds that corn farmers have to buy.
