A story of finding my grandma after she forgetfully ditched my invitation for morning tea.

Where’s Grandma?
To those who miss their grandmas around

Grandma forgot she was supposed to drink morning tea with me.

I can’t find her in the park chatting with her friends. (She is short, talkative, and loves wearing purple.)

An elderly pastime: sitting alone together. (Grandma also loves taking scrolls and 2HKD/ 20p bus rides)

I don’t think she is a fan of chess, but she loves to play Mahjong with her friends often until 1AM.

Feel the sea breeze on the promenade. (It’s windy where we live and Grandma always open windows because she thinks the room is stuffy.)

I don’t see her resting outside the indoor wet market. (She buys a dozen of bananas and oranges, hides some in her toilet and forgets about them.)

I wonder if she has eaten in KFC with grandpa when he was still here. Elderly customers go to KFC because of help-yourself seatings and air con, not the chicken.

I was hungry for noodles and suddenly I found her shop eating alone.

I went into a noodle shop for lunch and found her sitting alone, eating a bowl of Chinese style ramen she didn’t like. She said she thought I was some unknown friend when I called her.

Better with family. Where we live its quite windy by the sea. Grandma hates stuffiness and always open windows.

She has a lot of friends in the park but she is not here chatting with them.

I suppose she can be very
