Stamp Process
Experimenting with colour
I want each character to "own" a colour, however them having the same colour as the background made the image less visually contrasting.
Did not less the alienness of the blue woman.
Settled on these colours in the end.

I built my design based on a draft, which I then identified and colour blocked the shapes.
I loved this original background but in the end I decided to simplify the background a bit to make things clearer!
The recurring hand
Cantonese words
Trying to strike a balance between the size of the text and the composition of the image.
Forgetting to add the informative bits of the stamp
I felt that the border is necessary for the information to be clear, but at the same time it breaks the continuity of the image(s) and seems a bit restrictive.
In the end I went for a border only on one side, whilst resized the characters to allow more negative space.
Final Product. I understand that this is brief is about "The One", so apologies for can't helping but to make a series! I conducted a poll and the middle one ended up being most popular, so there it is.
If I have time, I would present it in a more stamp-like format and perhaps design a jacket for this set of commemorative stamps.
