Presenting film project + crit
Luke, Ola, Nataljia and I decided to showcase our works together because we all worked on darker themes, such as AI, brainwashing, fans of serial killers, and our addiction to screens. We created a faux cardboard TV/ black box display as it symbolizes the influence of mass media and telecommunication that is relevant to our chosen topics. We decided to put only one chair and a pair of headphones, so people can listen to our audio better and the watching experience would be more isolated and immersive.
Apart from showcasing our posters, we also made small flyers which encompass the four themes.
My poster is a mash-up of creepy noodle-advertising dolls and North Korean cheerleaders, to highlight the eerie similarity in their moving image, both unison in movement and rhythm, thus the sameness between brainwashing propaganda and mass-media advertising.
Japan has some pretty creepy normalized stuff
Forgot where this is from but the magnifying glass creates the conceptual imagery representing fisheye lens/ eye/ surveillance lens/ hole.
Our flyer is a collage of our four posters.
Other people's films!
A very informative approach to introducing the history of music playing instruments/ machines.
I am amazed by the amount of supportive material made for this project, such as leaflets, process books, props and so on.
Love this pink poster which represents her film well (using only pink and B&W, maybe to highlight the competitiveness in survival?)
Well overlapping printed material on acetate which allows you to read or interpret it in different ways.
